Can a person really be a believer in the God of the Bible and still practice any type of witchcraft, spiritism or white magic? NO. There’s no wiggle room for that compromise.

It’s amazing to me that so many people fall for that deception, but maybe I shouldn’t be because the apostle Paul wrote in 2 Co 11:14, But I am not surprised! Even Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light.

Many of these people really believe they are doing good or practicing a good magic… Or they even have statues of the Virgin Mary and pictures of Jesus…

Listen, the devil will let a person play with him and tolerate many things to convince you that you are right on course and doing nothing wrong, but if you’ve never been born again, you are susceptible to demon possession, oppression and eventually suicide or whatever “end” the devil can accomplish through you, as you continue to open yourself up to the darkness.

Jesus said this about the devil, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.

People who get into the occult, usually get into it innocently. A Harry Potter movie sparks interest in magic and seems pretty exciting to most kids. We’re drawn to the supernatural.

Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

NLT For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Instead, they are clinging to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. They won’t go along with God’s way.

2Tim 4:3-4 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to right teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever they want to hear. They will reject the truth and follow strange myths.

Ex 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

NLT “A sorceress must not be allowed to live.

Le 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I [am] the LORD your God.

NLT “Do not rely on mediums and psychics, for you will be defiled by them. I, the Lord, am your God.

Le 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

NLT “If any among the people are unfaithful by consulting and following mediums or psychics, I will turn against them and cut them off from the community.

De 18:10-12 There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. (he practitioner seeks to summon “operative spirits” or “spirits of divination”, for multiple reasons, from spiritual protection to wisdom.) For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

NLT And do not let your people practice fortune-telling or sorcery, or allow them to interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. Anyone who does these things is an object of horror and disgust to the Lord. It is because the other nations have done these things that the Lord your God will drive them out ahead of you.

1 Sam 15:23 Rebellion is as bad as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you from being king.”

2 Kings 9:22 King Joram demanded, “Do you come in peace, Jehu?” Jehu replied, “How can there be peace as long as the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother, Jezebel, are all around us?”

2 Kings 23:24 Josiah also exterminated the mediums and psychics, the household gods, and every other kind of idol worship, both in Jerusalem and throughout the land of Judah. He did this in obedience to all the laws written in the scroll that Hilkiah the priest had found in the Lord’s Temple.

1 Chr 10:13 So Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord. He failed to obey the Lord’s command, and he even consulted a medium.

2 Chr 33:6 Manasseh even sacrificed his own sons in the fire[fn1] in the valley of the son of Hinnom. He practiced sorcery, divination, and witchcraft, and he consulted with mediums and psychics. He did much that was evil in the Lord’s sight, arousing his anger.

1 Pet 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Isa 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

NLT So why are you trying to find out the future by consulting mediums and psychics? Do not listen to their whisperings and mutterings. Can the living find out the future from the dead? Why not ask your God?

Isa 19:3 The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will confuse their plans. They will plead with their idols for wisdom. They will call on spirits, mediums, and psychics to show them which way to turn.

Gal 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

NLT But cowards who turn away from me, and unbelievers, and the corrupt, and murderers, and the immoral, and those who practice witchcraft, and idol worshipers, and all liars-their doom is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

The Land of The Lies: Cults

I have to start this article with these simple words… “For God so loved the world, that He gave His ONLY begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him, will NOT perish, but have everlasting life.”

There I said it. I’ve made myself clear. But I hope that I’ve also so made the point that “God said it,” not me.

I didn’t write the Bible. I’m only writing this article. There… I feel so much better now.

I’m starting this series of “Cult” topics on the Jehovah’s Witnesses… WHY? Because they’re a cult. No other special reason. I’ll get to the others in time. Count on it!

In 1872, a pastor named Charles Taze Russell (1852-1916), organized an inconspicuous Bible Study Group in Allegheny, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. USA. Less than a decade later, this study group became the Zion’s Watch Tower Tract Society. Pastor Russell became its founder president. Subsequently, the Society decided to drop the word “Zion’s” from its name, that depicted a sort of affiliation with Israel. The movement adopted the name Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. In 1931, the movement adopted the name “Jehovah’s Witnesses” which has remained unchanged to this date. Who is Jehovah?

Most discussions between Christians and “J W’s” revolves around the topic of “deity.” Christians understand the Bible to declare that God is three persons in one. (Trinity) This is the area where the “Watchtower” theology deviates most dramatically from the truth. The “J W’s” have been taught that only God the Father alone is God; that Jesus Christ is Michael the archangel, the first angel created by God. And then they further explain that the Holy Spirit is neither God or a person, but an impersonal “active force.”

The first step in conquering this lie is to answer their concept, Is Jesus Christ really an angel?

So as not to be accused of misquoting, I will now quote from the Watchtower issues; “Jesus Christ, whom we understand from the scriptures to be Michael the archangel.” (Watchtower, February 15, 1979, p. 31)

They can find NO scriptures to prove Jesus is Michael the archangel or that Jesus is an angel… period! So, they created their own version of the Bible and call it the “New World Translation.” (Not to be confused with the New Living Translation.)

The NWT (New World Translation) mentions Michael five times. These five quotes are very close to the original scriptures and do not mention anyone but Michael. OK, so far.

Then they come to this… Jesus Christ is “Lord of lords and King of kings” (Revelation 17:14, NWT) and is “far above every government and authority and power and lordship and every name named, not only in this system of things, but also in that to come” (Ephesians 1:21, NWT) Does this sound like an archangel?

Then they use this one scripture to anchor their doctrine on… “the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet…” (1Thesaloninas 4:16, NWT)

The verse simply means that the archangel, like God’s trumpet, will herald the coming of the Lord, not that the Lord is an archangel! Nothing they present as scriptural “evidence” even comes close to stating that Jesus is Michael or Jesus is an archangel!

The fact is; the scriptures prove He’s NOT an angel. The Son of God is superior to the angels. The book of Hebrews, chapter 1, says, ” For to what angel did God ever say, Thou are my Son…?” and again, when He brought His Son into the world… “Let all God’s angels worship Him…”

Angels consistently refuse worship throughout scriptures. Jesus Christ is NOT an angel.

What is heretical (a doctrine that will send you to hell) about their teaching is that the scriptures clearly state that Jesus is Lord and King. And even the apostle Peter told the people in Acts 4:11-12; “For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, `The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone. There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them.”

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand that… Matthew 11:27, Jesus said, “My Father has given me authority over everything. No one really knows the Son except the Father, and no one really knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

Another little footnote about the way the leadership of the Watchtower Society has lied and changed the wording of God’s Holy word to make it compliant with their doctrine… Revelation 22:18 “And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book.”

The people who participate in this cult are mostly duped by the “leadership” of this pernicious teaching and they will answer when they stand before the judgment seat of Christ, unless they turn from their wicked ways.

I pray they do! Ephesians 2:12 “In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from God’s people, Israel, and you did not know the promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope.”

Hello world! There IS A God!

Look at the pictures of earth and tell me what you see. I see a huge globe type shaped planet spinning on it’s axis everyday and every night. Three hundred and sixty five days a year. And it has been for thousands or millions of years. (Depending on who you listen to.)

What holds it in orbit? Who ever thinks about it? We just go about our busy lives and whatever is necessary and important to “us” today.

People in other parts of the world live out “their reality”…. pain, suffering, famine, human slavery, man’s inhumanity to men, bombings, terrorist attacks, AIDS, HIV, poverty, fights and divisions… and the rest of us go on with our trials and attempts at happiness, no matter how large or small they seem to us.

Well, think about it… not only earth, but millions of stars and other planets just all “floating around” out there in space. But are they just “floating” around? NO. If they were just floating, they’d surely run into each other by now and then we’d have a “BIG BANG.”

But because they don’t crash into each other, we don’t.

The theory of a “crash” millions and billions and “gazillions” or whatever years ago, and all order in the universe resulting from it, is as brain dead as a rock.

There are many brain dead theory’s and opinions and ideas, but this one, is one of them at the top of the “brain dead” list.

My point to this? There is a God!

Not a “force” or floating “presence” or “man upstairs” or any of the other “creation” of men’s minds. He knows what’s going on all around this world and yes, He is allowing us to make choices and exercise our “FREE WILL” every day.

My answer to those that say, “Well, if there’s a God, how can He…………..?” Allow all the heartache and tribulation in people’s lives around the world and not stop it? He could and He will, but for now, He has given us all a “free will.”

“God has every right to exercise his judgment and his power, but he also has the right to be very patient with those who are the objects of his judgment and are fit only for destruction.” Romans 9:22

“The Lord Almighty says, “The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. The arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw on that day. They will be consumed like a tree-roots and all. “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.” Malachi 4:1-2

“For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures. There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them.” (The Apostle Peter)
