In yesterday’s news, CBN reported on a California pastor who was sentenced Thursday to 30 days in jail, three years probation and fined $1,130 after being convicted under an Oakland ordinance “barring protestors” from coming within eight feet of anyone entering an abortion clinic.
Walter Hoye is an executive elder at the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in south Berkeley, Calif. He was arrested on May 13, 2008, for standing outside the Family Planning Specialists clinic in Oakland, Calif. He was carrying a sign on a public sidewalk that read, “Jesus loves you and your baby. Let us help,” and asking, “Can I talk to you for a minute about abortion alternatives?” He never laid a hand on anyone.
The worst part is that Walter Hoye, 52, could have faced up to two years in jail after a jury convicted him last month.
Do you know what “separation” of Church and state means? In reality, it means if you’re a secular humanist… “keep God and everything that reminds me of God, away from me and anything that has to do with my life.” “I want to live with an “unrestricted” lifestyle, non compliant to the will of God and His laws.”
We all have a “will” and God will let you decide to “receive” or “reject” Him and His will in your life.
Do you realize the result of saying “I want God out of my life and out of this country?
The prophet Isaiah spoke the same message to Israel, that reflects America’s condition today…
“Your hands are the hands of murderers, and your fingers are filthy with sin. Your mouth is full of lies, and your lips are tainted with corruption. No one cares about being fair and honest. Their lawsuits are based on lies. They spend their time plotting evil deeds and then doing them. They spend their time and energy spinning evil plans that end up in deadly actions. They cheat and shortchange everyone. Nothing they do is productive; all their activity is filled with sin. Violence is their trademark. Their feet run to do evil, and they rush to commit murder. They think only about sinning. Wherever they go, misery and destruction follow them. They do not know what true peace is or what it means to be just and good. They continually do wrong, and those who follow them cannot experience a moment’s peace. It is because of all this evil that deliverance is far from us. That is why God doesn’t punish those who injure us. No wonder we are in darkness when we expected light. No wonder we are walking in the gloom. We look for justice, but it is nowhere to be found. We look to be rescued, but it is far away from us. We know that we have rebelled against the LORD. We have turned our backs on God. We know how unfair and oppressive we’ve been, carefully planning our deceitful lies. Our courts oppose people who are righteous, and justice is nowhere to be found. Truth falls dead in the streets, and fairness has been outlawed. Yes, truth is gone, and anyone who tries to live a godly life is soon attacked. The LORD looked and was displeased to find that there was no justice.”
This a clear sign that we are in “the last days.” Want proof?
It’s not just an Old Testament prophet, warning us of the evil then. We have the same warnings today from the Apostle Paul about what signs will show us that we’re in the “last days” before the Great Tribulation…
“And now, brothers and sisters, let us tell you about the coming again of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered together to meet him.” “For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed–the one who brings destruction.”And you know what is holding him back, for he can be revealed only when his time comes. For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will consume with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.”
It is absolutely pathetic that in America an individual can be sentenced to jail for engaging in peaceful free speech activity on a public sidewalk. For the mere reason of caring for an “unborn child.” But we are in the last days…
Paul wrote a personal letter to Timothy and said, “You should also know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. (Here’s where we are right now.) They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control; they will be cruel and have no interest in what is good. (Again, where we are right now.) They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act as if they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. You must stay away from people like that.”
This is a deliberate attempt to silence the Church and its prophetic role in protecting the innocent lives in our communities.
Before he was sentenced, Hoye told the judge, “I believe that an “unjust law” is no law at all.” When the judge asked him if he would abide by the court’s order to stay 100 yards away from the clinic, Hoye told him “no.”

Very exciting stuff if you’re a Christian… (A born again, Spirit filled lover of Jesus Christ.) Not a Sunday morning, “OK, I’ll do my duty and church and live like hell the rest of the week” kind of fake believer. I’m talking “sold out” for God person.
Why is this exciting stuff??
The war against Hamas in Gaza is more than a war. It’s literally a fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
The prophet Isaiah spoke about the “re-gathering” (interesting for all you “Gather” people) of Israel to their own land, but so did seven other prophets in the Old Testament.
Ezekiel was one of those eight prophets who went into what will happen after the nation of Israel is there again in their land. (They’ve been there for 60 years now, fulfilling the prophecy of EIGHT Old Testament prophets.) Part of what he foretold was the imminent attack on Israel that will bring “hordes” of armies against them. Most likely, they (hordes) will be of Muslim persuasion. Do you know how many Muslims there are in the world today?
About 1.2 Billion!
At a level of 1.2 billion, they represent about 22% of the world’s population. They’re the second largest religion in the world. Only Christianity is larger, with 33% of the world’s inhabitants.
Islam is growing about 2.9% per year. This is faster than the total world population which increases about 2.3% annually. It is thus attracting a progressively larger percentage of the world’s population.
According to scripture, the church (the kind of REAL Christians I mentioned above, NOT the “live like the world kind”) will be raptured (caught away). The apostles mentioned it in the Bible.
Paul wrote to the Corinthians in his first letter to them, “It will happen in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, the Christians who have died will be raised with transformed bodies. And then we who are living will be transformed so that we will never die.”
Paul also wrote to the Thessalonians in his first letter to them, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
I noticed that it was written about in his FIRST letters, which indicates that he thought it was important enough to get the word out about that subject right away.
Which brings me to my main point. This cannot happen until many things transpire.
Those “many things” foretold by the prophets and Jesus himself have already happened, leaving nothing left, except the fulfillment of this prophecy. Without getting into years of study that would only “overload” your mind with information, I can tell you I believe Ezekiel, chapter 38 is about to be fulfilled soon.
Read the entire 38th chapter of Ezekiel for a better understanding of what I’m trying to condense here. Ezekiel 38:7 says, “Get ready; be prepared! Keep all the armies around you mobilized, and take command of them. A long time from now you will be called into action. In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be lying in peace after her recovery from war and after the return of her people from many lands. (That has been being fulfilled since May 14, 1948.) You and all your allies–a vast and awesome horde–will roll down on them like a storm and cover the land like a cloud.”
After Israel is finished “rooting out” the Hamas terrorists, they will have some peace for a while. How long before “You and all your allies–a vast and awesome horde–will roll down on them like a storm and cover the land like a cloud?” That’s the million dollar question! (My prediction?…. Not long!)
“For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

There are times in life when you aren’t sure if what you’re doing even matters to anyone…
You feel like no one cares. Well, think again.
My podcast had been suspended since I was “unwilling” to upgrade for hosting service to get the needed space, to continue any further. On a recent visit of my sister, nephew and niece, I was told that my 14 year old nephew needed some spiritual encouragement and that he “really missed not being able to hear his Uncle Steve’s pod cast’s anymore.”
I said, with an astonishing surprise…. “Really?” “He really wanted to hear more?”
My sister snapped back, “Yes, he was really learning and growing from your lessons and he really enjoyed them.”
That was all I needed to hear! Not for my ego, but for the benefit of a teenager knowing and growing closer to God because of my puny efforts.

The apostle James said, “Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you.”
This is what Jesus said and He cannot lie. This is His promise to you and me if we make “His will” the most important thing in our lives. (How do we know His will for our lives… we find it in the Bible.) And how do we know specifically about a job or direction to take? We ask the Holy Spirit to speak to us. He is the one Jesus sent. He is the One who is here now.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you do what you can’t do on your own. That’s why Jesus said, “But when the Father sends the Counselor as my representative–and by the Counselor I mean the Holy Spirit–he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I myself have told you.” John 14:26
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
” In those days when you pray, I will listen.”
” If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
When we come to the end of ourselves and our plans and put Him first, above everything and everyone, it shows God, that we understand that we belong to Him and He will take care of us when our priorities are the Kingdom of God first… always and forever.
When you really believe this and act upon His promises, your life will change dramatically.
Look what Moses spoke to Israel… “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, that you and your descendants might live! Choose to love the LORD your God and to obey him and commit yourself to him, for he is your life. Then you will live long in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” Deut 30:19-20
New Age and the Occult

Can a person really be a believer in the God of the Bible and still practice any type of witchcraft, spiritism or white magic? NO. There’s no wiggle room for that compromise.
It’s amazing to me that so many people fall for that deception, but maybe I shouldn’t be because the apostle Paul wrote in 2 Co 11:14, But I am not surprised! Even Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light.
Many of these people really believe they are doing good or practicing a good magic… Or they even have statues of the Virgin Mary and pictures of Jesus…
Listen, the devil will let a person play with him and tolerate many things to convince you that you are right on course and doing nothing wrong, but if you’ve never been born again, you are susceptible to demon possession, oppression and eventually suicide or whatever “end” the devil can accomplish through you, as you continue to open yourself up to the darkness.
Jesus said this about the devil, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.
People who get into the occult, usually get into it innocently. A Harry Potter movie sparks interest in magic and seems pretty exciting to most kids. We’re drawn to the supernatural.
Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
NLT For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Instead, they are clinging to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. They won’t go along with God’s way.
2Tim 4:3-4 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to right teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever they want to hear. They will reject the truth and follow strange myths.

1 Sam 15:23 Rebellion is as bad as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you from being king.”
2 Kings 9:22 King Joram demanded, “Do you come in peace, Jehu?” Jehu replied, “How can there be peace as long as the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother, Jezebel, are all around us?”
2 Kings 23:24 Josiah also exterminated the mediums and psychics, the household gods, and every other kind of idol worship, both in Jerusalem and throughout the land of Judah. He did this in obedience to all the laws written in the scroll that Hilkiah the priest had found in the Lord’s Temple.
1 Chr 10:13 So Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord. He failed to obey the Lord’s command, and he even consulted a medium.
2 Chr 33:6 Manasseh even sacrificed his own sons in the fire[fn1] in the valley of the son of Hinnom. He practiced sorcery, divination, and witchcraft, and he consulted with mediums and psychics. He did much that was evil in the Lord’s sight, arousing his anger.
1 Pet 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Isa 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
NLT So why are you trying to find out the future by consulting mediums and psychics? Do not listen to their whisperings and mutterings. Can the living find out the future from the dead? Why not ask your God?
Isa 19:3 The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will confuse their plans. They will plead with their idols for wisdom. They will call on spirits, mediums, and psychics to show them which way to turn.
Gal 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
NLT But cowards who turn away from me, and unbelievers, and the corrupt, and murderers, and the immoral, and those who practice witchcraft, and idol worshipers, and all liars-their doom is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

I have to start this article with these simple words… “For God so loved the world, that He gave His ONLY begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him, will NOT perish, but have everlasting life.”
There I said it. I’ve made myself clear. But I hope that I’ve also so made the point that “God said it,” not me.
I didn’t write the Bible. I’m only writing this article. There… I feel so much better now.
I’m starting this series of “Cult” topics on the Jehovah’s Witnesses… WHY? Because they’re a cult. No other special reason. I’ll get to the others in time. Count on it!
In 1872, a pastor named Charles Taze Russell (1852-1916), organized an inconspicuous Bible Study Group in Allegheny, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. USA. Less than a decade later, this study group became the Zion’s Watch Tower Tract Society. Pastor Russell became its founder president. Subsequently, the Society decided to drop the word “Zion’s” from its name, that depicted a sort of affiliation with Israel. The movement adopted the name Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. In 1931, the movement adopted the name “Jehovah’s Witnesses” which has remained unchanged to this date. Who is Jehovah?
Most discussions between Christians and “J W’s” revolves around the topic of “deity.” Christians understand the Bible to declare that God is three persons in one. (Trinity) This is the area where the “Watchtower” theology deviates most dramatically from the truth. The “J W’s” have been taught that only God the Father alone is God; that Jesus Christ is Michael the archangel, the first angel created by God. And then they further explain that the Holy Spirit is neither God or a person, but an impersonal “active force.”
The first step in conquering this lie is to answer their concept, Is Jesus Christ really an angel?
So as not to be accused of misquoting, I will now quote from the Watchtower issues; “Jesus Christ, whom we understand from the scriptures to be Michael the archangel.” (Watchtower, February 15, 1979, p. 31)
They can find NO scriptures to prove Jesus is Michael the archangel or that Jesus is an angel… period! So, they created their own version of the Bible and call it the “New World Translation.” (Not to be confused with the New Living Translation.)
The NWT (New World Translation) mentions Michael five times. These five quotes are very close to the original scriptures and do not mention anyone but Michael. OK, so far.
Then they come to this… Jesus Christ is “Lord of lords and King of kings” (Revelation 17:14, NWT) and is “far above every government and authority and power and lordship and every name named, not only in this system of things, but also in that to come” (Ephesians 1:21, NWT) Does this sound like an archangel?
Then they use this one scripture to anchor their doctrine on… “the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet…” (1Thesaloninas 4:16, NWT)
The verse simply means that the archangel, like God’s trumpet, will herald the coming of the Lord, not that the Lord is an archangel! Nothing they present as scriptural “evidence” even comes close to stating that Jesus is Michael or Jesus is an archangel!
The fact is; the scriptures prove He’s NOT an angel. The Son of God is superior to the angels. The book of Hebrews, chapter 1, says, ” For to what angel did God ever say, Thou are my Son…?” and again, when He brought His Son into the world… “Let all God’s angels worship Him…”
Angels consistently refuse worship throughout scriptures. Jesus Christ is NOT an angel.
What is heretical (a doctrine that will send you to hell) about their teaching is that the scriptures clearly state that Jesus is Lord and King. And even the apostle Peter told the people in Acts 4:11-12; “For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, `The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone. There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them.”
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand that… Matthew 11:27, Jesus said, “My Father has given me authority over everything. No one really knows the Son except the Father, and no one really knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
Another little footnote about the way the leadership of the Watchtower Society has lied and changed the wording of God’s Holy word to make it compliant with their doctrine… Revelation 22:18 “And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book.”
The people who participate in this cult are mostly duped by the “leadership” of this pernicious teaching and they will answer when they stand before the judgment seat of Christ, unless they turn from their wicked ways.
I pray they do! Ephesians 2:12 “In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from God’s people, Israel, and you did not know the promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope.”
Look at the pictures of earth and tell me what you see. I see a huge globe type shaped planet spinning on it’s axis everyday and every night. Three hundred and sixty five days a year. And it has been for thousands or millions of years. (Depending on who you listen to.)
What holds it in orbit? Who ever thinks about it? We just go about our busy lives and whatever is necessary and important to “us” today.
People in other parts of the world live out “their reality”…. pain, suffering, famine, human slavery, man’s inhumanity to men, bombings, terrorist attacks, AIDS, HIV, poverty, fights and divisions… and the rest of us go on with our trials and attempts at happiness, no matter how large or small they seem to us.
Well, think about it… not only earth, but millions of stars and other planets just all “floating around” out there in space. But are they just “floating” around? NO. If they were just floating, they’d surely run into each other by now and then we’d have a “BIG BANG.”
But because they don’t crash into each other, we don’t.
The theory of a “crash” millions and billions and “gazillions” or whatever years ago, and all order in the universe resulting from it, is as brain dead as a rock.
There are many brain dead theory’s and opinions and ideas, but this one, is one of them at the top of the “brain dead” list.
My point to this? There is a God!
Not a “force” or floating “presence” or “man upstairs” or any of the other “creation” of men’s minds. He knows what’s going on all around this world and yes, He is allowing us to make choices and exercise our “FREE WILL” every day.
My answer to those that say, “Well, if there’s a God, how can He…………..?” Allow all the heartache and tribulation in people’s lives around the world and not stop it? He could and He will, but for now, He has given us all a “free will.”
“God has every right to exercise his judgment and his power, but he also has the right to be very patient with those who are the objects of his judgment and are fit only for destruction.” Romans 9:22
“The Lord Almighty says, “The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. The arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw on that day. They will be consumed like a tree-roots and all. “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.” Malachi 4:1-2

What holds it in orbit? Who ever thinks about it? We just go about our busy lives and whatever is necessary and important to “us” today.
People in other parts of the world live out “their reality”…. pain, suffering, famine, human slavery, man’s inhumanity to men, bombings, terrorist attacks, AIDS, HIV, poverty, fights and divisions… and the rest of us go on with our trials and attempts at happiness, no matter how large or small they seem to us.
Well, think about it… not only earth, but millions of stars and other planets just all “floating around” out there in space. But are they just “floating” around? NO. If they were just floating, they’d surely run into each other by now and then we’d have a “BIG BANG.”
But because they don’t crash into each other, we don’t.
The theory of a “crash” millions and billions and “gazillions” or whatever years ago, and all order in the universe resulting from it, is as brain dead as a rock.
There are many brain dead theory’s and opinions and ideas, but this one, is one of them at the top of the “brain dead” list.
My point to this? There is a God!
Not a “force” or floating “presence” or “man upstairs” or any of the other “creation” of men’s minds. He knows what’s going on all around this world and yes, He is allowing us to make choices and exercise our “FREE WILL” every day.
My answer to those that say, “Well, if there’s a God, how can He…………..?” Allow all the heartache and tribulation in people’s lives around the world and not stop it? He could and He will, but for now, He has given us all a “free will.”
“God has every right to exercise his judgment and his power, but he also has the right to be very patient with those who are the objects of his judgment and are fit only for destruction.” Romans 9:22
“The Lord Almighty says, “The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. The arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw on that day. They will be consumed like a tree-roots and all. “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.” Malachi 4:1-2
